The Community room will be available to the following groups in order of priority:
1. Library sponsored activities
2. City of Kentwood sponsored activities
3. Non-profit group meetings open to the general public
3. All other uses
Groups may occasionally be asked to reschedule to avoid conflicts with an election, library program or city event. Room rental is subject to the approval of the branch manager.

Available times:
8:45 AM till 10:00PM Monday through Thursday
8:45 AM till 6:30 PM Friday
8:45 AM till 4:30 PM Saturday
No groups may be in the building other than during the posted hours

Meeting group size:
By order of the Kentwood Fire Marshal, the Bowen Community Room will accommodate a maximum of 62 adults (79 individuals if the group is a mix of adults and children).

Other Restrictions:
• No parties or other social events are permitted in the community room.
• Group activities may not interfere with normal library use (noise or other disturbance)
• Music is only allowed with prior approval of the library branch manager.
• Food and drink are restricted to light refreshment.
• Storage space is only available with prior approval by the branch manager and is limited. to one half of a storage cabinet. The library does not guarantee storage space.
• No alcohol use anywhere on library property
• No smoking in the library building
• No sales of goods or services are permitted on library property

Cost:
$20 per hour for use by a business
$20 per meeting for non-profit groups for the first 4 hours or less. If the meeting will extend beyond 4 hours, an additional $20 will be charged.
Maximum rental is 8 hours.

Each group is responsible for setting up and cleaning up before and after each use.
Chairs should be stacked and tables placed against the wall before the group vacates the room.
If leaving after library hours: Lights should be turned off in the room, restroom and hallway. Make sure the doors lock behind the last person.
Closing procedures are posted on the community room doors.

Failure to comply with room rental rules will result in denial of access.
